CD of the Week (8 – 12 June)

Cameron Lam, The Art of Disappearing

Composer Cameron Lam, Fine Music Sydney’s 2018 Stefan Kruger scholar, presents his fourth portrait album, The Art of Disappearing, a full song cycle plumbing the emotional depths of Sarah Holland-Batt’s poetry.

Performed by Australian contemporary music champion mezzo soprano Jenny Duck-Chong, together with the Geist String Quartet – the work shimmers through a spectrum of musical colours – from warmth of home to the cold and dark shades of grieving. The Art of Disappearing draws the listener along on a beautiful and poignant journey from loss to learning to move again.

Fine Music Sydney subscribers have a chance to win a copy of The Art of Disappearing. Winners will be notified by email
