Stefan Kruger Scholarship
Fine Music is proud to offer the Kruger Scholarship to assist young, outstanding individuals to further their career in their chosen field of music.
Young Virtuoso Award
For over 30 years aspiring musicians and singers have competed for the Fine Music youth award – now known as Young Virtuoso Award – which brings with it not only a generous cash prize, but career boosting broadcast opportunities.
Young Composer Award
Fine Music Willoughby Symphony Young Composer Award is an annual competition that gives the opportunity for composers to have works played as part of the Willoughby Symphony program and recorded by Fine Music.
Artists in Residence
Fine Music has always encouraged local music and musicians support. program is open to professional and established musical groups (2 or more members) from the Classical, Contemporary and Jazz genres, who reside in NSW. We support new work and collaborations.
Fine Music’s goal of promoting young Australian musicians comes to life every Saturday evening at 7pm with Emergent Jazz. The program is focussed on the emerging musicians from Sydney’s jazz campuses at the UNSW and the Sydney Conservatorium and recent alumni. The program also plays jazz from other campuses, along with recent Australian and international jazz releases. Playlists and related video are available at Emergent Jazz
Ken Weatherley Jazz Scholarship
A bequest from former jazz presenter Ken Weatherley has allowed Fine Music to create the Ken Weatherley Jazz Scholarship. This annual scholarship assists young outstanding Australian jazz musicians to further their careers, providing cash, recording services and marketing support.
