A dash of Mozart to whet the taste buds for the orchestra’s return to the concert hall kicks off the first Sydney Symphony Hour program of the year. Dvorak and Mendelssohn provide the meat and bones of the program lending this musical menu a heartfelt romantic flavour. An early work of Benjamin Britten, suggested by SSO Associate Concertmaster, Harry Bennetts for Unheard adds a touch of youthful spice in a piece for string quartet, and incoming violin virtuoso Ray Chen with his equally talented quartet chums. Made in Berlin, provides the cherry on a tasty musical cake.
