Tribute: Taryn Fiebig (1972 – 2021)

Award-winning soprano Taryn Fiebig was one of Australia’s most versatile artists. She performed with major opera companies in Australia and abroad including Opera Australia, the Song Company and Queensland Symphony Orchestra amongst others.

This Friday 26 March at 1pm, we will present a special one-hour tribute program to honour Taryn’s life and work.

Below, we have reproduced her 2019 interview with Michael Morton-Evans on In Conversation. Over the seven and a half years that Michael presented our popular In Conversation program, he interviewed Taryn several times. Though battling cancer at the time of this interview, she was her indomitable self, humble, gracious and with a wicked sense of humour.

We hope you enjoy these tributes to one of our great opera stars who is sadly missed by all who knew her.

Original broadcast date: Wednesday 25 September 2019

Don’t miss our special tribute program on Friday 26 March at 1pm.
